PM Modi to launch 'Poor Welfare Employment' campaign from Bihar today 

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Saturday launch a poor welfare employment scheme from Telihar village in Beldor block of Bihar's Khagadia district.  Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi will be present on the occasion via video conference.

 In Bihar, more than 3 million workers have returned from different parts of the country.  This created an employment crisis for them.

 Notably, according to the central government, there are 116 districts in six states in which a large number of migrant laborers have returned from the cities during the Corona crisis in each district.  More than 25,000 laborers have returned to each district.  This includes 32 districts of Bihar and 31 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

 Jal Jeevan Hariyali Abhiyan started from Telihar: It is to be noted that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reached Telihar village of Beldor on January 4, 2020 and started Jal Jeevan Hariyali Yojana.  Under which he laid the foundation stone and inaugurated a Rs 2700 crore project.

 These states will be covered

 The scheme will cover 116 districts of the state of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Odisha including Bihar.

 The scheme is for 125 days

 The Garib Kisan Kalyan Rozgar Abhiyan is of 125 days, It aims to ensure the benefits of employment, livelihoods, poor welfare facilities and skill development for workers returning during the lockdown.  It has been involved in 25 types of migrant workers.  The scheme is estimated to cost Rs 50,000 crore.

 Where to start?

 PM Modi will launch the scheme on June 20 at 11 am via video conferencing.  The scheme is being launched from Teligar village in Bihar's Khagaria district.  A total of 116 District Common Service Centers from 6 states will join the program.
