Farmers who are suffering from locust loss will be paid Rs 13,500 per hectare

After the Banaskantha locust was badly damaged by the farmers' crop, today the Agriculture Department has directed the Collector of Banaskantha for a survey.  The farmers have been announced to assist farmers with loss of more than 33% as per the SDRF standard.  Rs. 135000 / - per hectare will be available.

In Gandhinagar, a survey has been directed for locust damage.  The Department of Agriculture has given instructions for the survey.  Banaskantha collector has been notified for the survey.  The farmer will get assistance as per the SDRF standard.  A farmer with a loss of more than 33% will get assistance.  Assistance of Rs. 13500 per hectare.

Concerning the locust invasion, Principal Secretary of Agriculture Poonamachand Parmar has made a statement that Banaskantha's locust operation has been successful by the government and in some areas there is sporadic locust.
